Telephone Engineer - Manchester - £41,500 great holiday & Pension

The company:

One of the North West's leading university's are undergoing a wide range of complex business and IT change to their student management systems to ensure they remain one of the prominent UK universities and offer their students the best possible experience during their time with them.

Your Role:

The primary focus of the role is to provide senior technical expertise in the collaboration and communication specialism, with a focus on IPT / Voice related systems and processes. The primary voice stack is currently Cisco focussed, however this role will give the post holder the opportunity to help us evaluate and upgrade our current assets alongside designing and deploying the next generation of voice systems at the university. You will play a key role in shaping and driving projects, critical pieces of repeatable work and innovative change within your specialist area.

For this role you will need to demonstrate experience supporting medium to large infrastructure environments and having 3rd line support responsibilities

Essential Technologies

Experience of senior 3rd line technical support in an enterprise environment, ideally working as voice / IPT SME
Broad knowledge and experience of enterprise level IT systems.
Expertise in managing, deploying and implementing Cisco IPT systems and services (eg. CUCM, Unity, UCCXE, WebEx etc)
Experience of managing or implementing Microsoft 365 voice related platforms (Teams phone system, Skype for Business, Meeting broadcast etc
Experience of managing core IPT infrastructure (eg. SIP connectivity, Voice Gateways, SBCs etc)
Experience of managing supporting IPT systems (eg. call logging tools, billing management)

Desirable

Experience of managing enterprise contact centre systems (hosted or on-prem)
Knowledge and experience of video conferencing / telepresence systems and standards.
Experience of deployment and management of endpoint security platforms
Knowledge of supporting platform infrastructure (eg. VMWare, Azure, Windows Server, Cisco IOS etc)
