Our Isle of Grain client have an exciting Site-based opportunity available for an Electrical Project Engineer to join them on a temporary basis.

**This role has been deemed outside IR35**

Start: 03/05/2021
Length: 10 months
Site: Grain Power Station - 100% site based

Our client are a multi-national energy company with a portfolio of electricity generation and gas assets throughout Europe and beyond. As part of the transition from fossil fuel based generation towards zero carbon generation, they are constructing two Synchronous Compensator plants at their existing Grain power station site. The purpose of these plants is to provide improved stability to the electricity grid, which is needed due to the closure of fossil fuel generating stations. The new plants at Grain comprise synchronous compensators (generators) with flywheels, lubrication, cooling, vacuum and comprehensive electrical and control systems.

They are now looking for a Electrical Project Engineer to work with the existing project team to support the plant construction and commissioning.


Role Responsibilities:

* Experience of taking a technical role in power engineering projects within power generation plants, renewables or industrial environments including integration of balance of plant (BoP) equipment and earthing systems.
* Experience of working in a multi-disciplined teams of permanent, temporary and sub-contractors to deliver customer facing solutions on construction, installation or major overhaul contracts.
* Ability to interpret Client design requirements and translate into technical and commercial proposal (with commercial support)
* Experience of creating technical specifications for HV and LV electrical equipment
* Experience of witnessing factory acceptance tests and site acceptance tests, equipment commissioning and plant handover on behalf of clients or within their own organisation's.
* The ability to work under pressure to meet challenging targets
* A flexible approach to working hours and location.
* Have good interpersonal skills, communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels of technical understanding
* Are self-motivated, able to work unsupervised, and organise their workload and priorities.
* Take an innovative approach to solving problems


Role Requirements:
* Ideally you will be educated to degree level/HNC/HND in Electrical or Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
* IOSH Safety qualification, NEBOSH desirable
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Proficiency in all areas of Microsoft Office products, including Projects, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
