Senior Test Engineer - Selenium - Wiltshire - Perm - £50k - £60k Per Annum

The Company
An Education publishing company based in Wiltshire is seeking an experienced Senior Test Engineer to join a growing team. This position is currently remote with flexible working post covid.

The Role
As a Senior Test Engineer, you will help lead the continual improvement of testing expertise by mentoring and coaching other members of the team, encouraging debate and experimentation, contributing to the technology roadmap, and refining our test strategy.

Responsibilities
*You will engage in the refinement of the backlog, by working with the product team and software engineers to reduce risks and ambiguity and increase ability to deliver work fast. Especially with focus on testability and impact on other work.
*You will assist in the planning and execution of sprint work, especially performing various types of testing as required to achieve the sprint goal and meet our expected quality standard. Typically, this might include:
oCreating and maintaining test plans.
oCoding and maintaining automation tests.
oDefine and execute manual tests.
*You will participate in regular process improvement meetings (such as sprint retrospectives) and contribute towards improving team processes.
*You will coach and mentor other team members to increase the team's overall testing capability.
*You will investigate new practices and tools and present strategies for adopting those that may bring value, especially relating to testing and educational publishing.
*You will contribute towards the engineering processes documentation, especially ensuring the testing processes are well documented.

Experience Required
*A very strong, and growing, understanding of a wide number of functional and non-functional testing types, such as:
ointerface
oexploratory / sanity
osecurity
oaccessibility
oload / stress
oregression
ointegration / component
ounit
ocross-device/cross-platform
ouser acceptance
*The ability to turn functional and non-functional requirements into test plans.
*Expertise in test automation, and experience of creating automation test suites for the various types of testing.
*The ability to code, debug, and maintain tests, ideally in C#, and high competency with test automation frameworks such as XUnit and SpecFlow.
*An expert understanding of TDD and BDD, and frameworks such as Gherkin/Cucumber.
*A very good understanding of Agile, Lean and DevOps practices, as well as frameworks such as Scrum.
*A very good understanding of web application development processes and practices.
*A solid understanding of web application security risks and approaches to testing them.
