Payroll Data Analyst

Spring Technology are currently working in partnership with a major public sector organisation to recruit a Payroll Data Analyst to work on a wide range of Payroll related activities.

Role
You will provide accurate and timely Payroll audit actions and reconciliations, and reconcile data between the People Payroll system to ensure accuracy and assurance. To support compliance with regulatory, professional and service standards in support of governance processes, performance management and wider organisational objectives.


Role responsibilities:
*To support the Payroll Team and wider stakeholders with analysis and reconciliation of payroll data and identifying and escalating any omission or errors.
*To work alongside the Payroll, HR Pension and Finance teams with reporting requirements and technical solutions that meet the business needs.
*Be a subject matter expert for Payroll data requirements, using reporting tools.
*Manage both qualitative and quantitative analytical work alone, as part of a team or in conjunction with other departments.
*Provide and cross check information, reports and specific data on expenses and data changes between systems to support the change to an online expense's platform and the audit requirements on the data.
*Ensure that all reporting or data derived is controlled and disseminated in accordance with all required standards.
*Analyse a range of complex data sets to develop insights and recommendations
*To lead on internal audits of expenses and data between systems, identify issues and pro-actively plan how to resolve and escalate any issues where required.
*Take ownership of audit functionality of expenses and cross check back across pay periods to provide a wide range of MI data required.
*Liaise with colleagues other functions as appropriate to ensure expenses data is consistent and correct.
*To lead on expenses audits and HR and Payroll Audits to ensure data changes are consistent and correct, and ensure the process is robust.


What are we looking for:
A successful track record in analysing, managing and reporting Payroll information & data in a large, multi disciplined operational organisation. A solid Payroll background with a strong track record of working with large amounts of data and reporting. Experience of establishing productive relationships with colleagues and customers (internally and externally) and across a variety of levels of seniority to deliver a Payroll and Expenses service that meets customer needs.

Understanding and awareness of political environments, can adapt style and confident in dealing with people at all levels of an organisation both internally and externally.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences through a range of mediums. The ability to synthesise and summarise complex information (including statistics) into a user-friendly format
