IT Service Manager - Birmingham - Infrastructure - 6 months

6 month contract working through an umbrella company with a competitive rate.

Full time opportunity: Infrastructure Services IT Operations Lead for Northern Europe, with a household FMCG company, based in Birmingham, UK.
Purpose of role
A full time position, with accountability for all aspects of Information Technology Service Management within a multi-country geography, maintaining strong partnership with client business leaders across the area.
The position manages the business needs for Information Technology Services, advises IT programs and services. Maintain the engagement with the relevant Global/Regional Centres of Excellences for the delivery of services for the geographical area of responsibility, while leading Transformation.
Ensure IS compliance while implementing and maintaining IS technical Applications and infrastructure capabilities.
Responsibilities
* Acts as a single point of contact within IS for the geographic business leader and their staff, and is accountable for ensuring their needs are fully understood, appropriately prioritized and included where appropriate in the IS strategic initiatives and road maps. Is an advocate for IS services within the geography ensuring necessary understanding of the IS agenda, priorities, and guidelines.
* Manages the Area ITS budget; costs spending are tracked and monitored, meeting regional finance thresholds. Delegates where appropriate the costs management to the Country Cluster leads.
* Influence and guide business process owners in leveraging IS innovation and adoption of new technology to maximise business value.
* Maintain relationships and confidence within the Functions to manage expectation for IT Service delivery.
* Understand business process in order to prioritize innovation and enhancements with the greatest impact.
* Maintain a high standard of ITIL service management criteria across IT services and support, Enforces IT Services Management Processes and is Accountable for an efficient usage of Information Systems according to best practices.
* Partner with Centre of Excellence teams to ensure alignment with strategy and economies of scale.
* Ensure a consistent approach in IT systems management aligned to regional strategy.
* Promote global / regional standardization to local needs and request in order to achieve economies of scale.
* Monitors and communicates client satisfaction within the geography and is accountable for ensuring delivery of service quality improvements. Monitors appropriate geographic KPIs/SLAs for IS services and solutions to the business. Review periodically the services with business and Delivery groups.
* Accountable to ensure that the direct line manager owns the satisfaction, growth, success, coaching, motivation, and day-to-day issue guidance of IS employees within the geography.
Compliance and Integrity :
* Know the ethical and legal compliance responsibilities of the position, apply integrity in all aspects of professional conduct.
* Maintain an environment where employees can speak up without fear of retaliation; ensure employees in area of responsibility understand the compliance responsibilities of their jobs and actively participate in the compliance program .
Education and Experiences
* Bachelor's degree in Information Systems/Computer Science/Business or equivalent
* IT/IS experience with good understanding of IT/IS environment/services/technology
* Good understanding of Vendor Management required to support governance processes
* Self-starter who is able to operate independently/remotely
* Ability to engage with relatively senior stakeholders across functions within a region (Diverse Countries >5)
* Strong analytical capability
* Translates commercial needs / capabilities into functional requirements
* Good knowledge and understanding of SAP and general Financial and Procurement processes
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
