My client a growing IT/AV consultancy based in Central London, are looking to recruit an Infrastructure Design Consultant to come on board and join their rapidly growing team. The role of the Infrastructure Design Consultant is to primarily focus on our client's ICT Infrastructure fit-out projects. Leading client engagements and an in-depth understanding of how projects are run within the RIBA project framework are essential. The Infrastructure Design Consultant will help develop client relationships by providing technical input and will assist in creating future opportunities
Roles and Responsibilities (included but not limited to):
*Development of Design in line with RIBA Stages
*Ownership of design throughout
*Ensuring applicable standards are met
*Undertaking formal presentations to clients
*Detailed understanding of Structured cabling Systems and its associated support systems-
oCopper and Fibre cable media
o10GB/40GB/100GB Connectivity
oCable testing
oEquipment room design
oContainment and Cabinetry
oAn understanding of active networks (Desirable)
oAn understanding of Audio Visual systems (Not essential)
oAn understanding of Security systems (Not essential)
*Witness testing, snagging and reporting
*Preparation of design documentation and technical specifications
*Working with our Production Department in the preparation of technical drawings, schematics and design details
*AutoCAD Skills would be an advantage but not essential


Skills & Qualifications
*Broad knowledge of low voltage infrastructure, structured cabling and coordination strategy with focus on telecommunications and / or audio visual design
*3-5 years' experience within a similar role
*Any Industry related design qualifications preferable but not essential i.e. RCDD
*Experience in having direct responsibility for producing coordinated Telecommunications construction documents
*The ability to plan and execute complex projects
*Proficiency in reading and interpreting floor plans and technical drawings and specifications
*Understanding of the design and construction of IT equipment rooms and/or Data Centres
*Experience in project completion and handover of infrastructure projects
*Strong communication skills at all levels
*The ability to work as part of and/or leading a team
*High level of IT literacy - Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat essential
*Excellent communication and organisation skills
*Ability to work under pressure
*Attention to detail
