Our client are currently looking for a Head Bike Mechanic to come on board and assist with the set up of their operation in Manchester. This is a new and exciting role where you will be helping to launch and hiring a top performing local team as the company scales. You and your team will be responsible for building and servicing bikes as well as delivering them to riders across the city.

You will be a skilled and experienced bike mechanic who is also confident driving our vans, meeting our riders and delivering exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will be bike obsessed with good knowledge of cycling in Manchester.

You will need exceptional organisational skills and an ability to lead a team of people. You will be a self-starter who is excited by the challenge of helping to launch our service in Manchester. You should have an extensive knowledge of bikes and be keen to input into the design and development of future products.

Key responsibilities

Build new bikes and service returns working out of our Manchester hub
Deliver bikes to our riders across the city
Meet our riders and answer questions about the service and offer advice on cycling in Manchester
Onboarding and managing new team members as we scale the Manchester operation
Ensure complete and proper inventory management, informing Operations team of stock availability and ensuring appropriate stock of bikes, spare parts and tools is maintained


3+ years of workshop experience
Cytech level 2 / 3 or equivalent
Experience with a range of bikes including a basic understanding of e-bike systems
Experience leading a high performing team
A team player who actively wants to get involved in projects outside your core day to day role
Be obsessed with delivering the best customer experience
Full driving licence with less than 6 penalty points
Experience driving vans
Knowledge and experience relating to cycling in Manchester
