Our Client , has an exciting new opening for A Fleet Compliance Engineer to join their team.
The Fleet Compliance Engineer is responsible for vehicle inspection, roadworthiness, safety, monitoring of contracted service delivery standards, vehicle environmental condition and Operator Licence processes adherence.
The post holder will assist the Fleet Lead Operations Manager in the control of all vehicle and trailer risks in relation to the company delivering its Vehicle Operating Licence requirement set out by the DVSA. Reporting all vehicle related non-compliance related to legal and statutory obligations.
Working with the Fleet Lead Operations Manager and liaising closely with the Operations Manager & Compliance Support Officer, the Fleet Compliance Engineer will focus on strengthening commercial, operational and regulatory compliance across the UK Businesses, thereby minimising business risk in these areas.

You will be responsible for remaining updated with Operator Licence and vehicle legislation change to ensure the company remain within the legal requirement of the Operator Licence commitment
*Working closely with drivers to embed auditable processes and policies to ensure vehicles are legal and roadworthy in line with the Traffic Commissioners "Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness".
*Identify and escalate concerns relating to the carriage of dangerous goods to ensure compliance at all times.

*Reporting findings and best practice to the Fleet Lead Operations Manager in order to drive leading commercial and regulatory management through robust management information.

*Supporting the management of outsourced Service Providers assisting towards continuous improvement across all areas of service delivery to ensure all statutory, contractual, commercial and performance objectives are fully satisfied. Whilst ensuring the companys legal commitment to the Traffic Commissioner in relation to the Operator Licence remains compliant.

The post holder will be expected to operate within, and contribute to, a robust and competitive, commercial operating environment both within General Services and via outsourced contractors, supporting the delivery and development of contracted services and stakeholder requirement.

*Support the implementation of the Fleet H&S controls across the business which will include a UK wide fleet compliance audit programme (Gate Checks, random/planned vehicle spot checking and vehicle weight checks).

*In conjunction with the gate check programme, carryout random checks on hired/owned plant to ensure compliance, escalating concerns as required.

*Support the administration tasks associated with the Scottish Power Operating Licence ("O" Licence) with DVSA ensuring SP compliance with the Licence obligations in relation to vehicle maintenance records, tachograph infringement, vehicle location and vehicle allocation to the correct licence area.

*Implementation of audit practices to demonstrate vehicle records compliance in line with "O" Licence and statutory obligations relating to the SP Business use of the commercial fleet

*Develop an escalation process to enable MI which identifies major fleet risk elements and trends with risk indicators across the group.

*Developing relationships with SP fleet users in order to educate drivers in their responsibility in reducing vehicle risk by adopting the vehicle daily check process.

*Ability to demonstrate professional Competence is a fundamental requirement of the role. Ensuring that at all times we protect the "licence to practice" via stringent governance procedures.

*Working closely with drivers to embed auditable processes and policies to ensure vehicles are legal and roadworthy in line with the Traffic Commissioners "Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness".

You will have
*Certificate of Professional Competence for Transport Management.

*Technically qualified in motor vehicle maintenance and repair or equivalent experience.

*Nebosh

*Flexibility to work out-with normal working hours in response to vehicle compliance checking and user responsibilities.

*Flexibility to work in locations out-with normal working location.
