Data Protection Advisor

Data Protection / Information Security / Compliance / Birmingham City Centre / Permanent

My nationally recognised, highly reputable client is looking for an experienced Data Protection Advisor to join their growing Data Protection Team at their Midlands office based in Birmingham City Centre.

Key responsibilities:
*Provide data protection subject matter expertise and advice, with a particular focus on individual rights and incident response.
*Assist in developing awareness of and ensuring compliance with data protection legislation across the group.
*Support on creating the data protection strategy; working across the business to ensure that this understood and followed.
*Partner with the business to provide practical, efficient solutions where shortfalls have been identified and ensure the implementation of corrective measures.
*Promote consistent processes and behaviours so that they become part of the group's culture.
*Help to support more junior colleagues through supervising their work and always promoting best practice across the team.

Key Skills and Experience required:
*Significant experience in Data Protection (ideally 2+ years in a pure DP role)
*Exceptional communicator with the ability to gain business buy-in.
*Highly analytical with experience of; analysing problems, identifying and evaluating possible solutions as well as having strong decision making ability.
*Ideally you will hold or be working towards an ISEB in Data Protection of CIIPP/E qualification.

This is a great opportunity to join a very well established and well known client during an exciting period of transformation. This is a full time permanent role with a salary of circa £45,000 depending on experience.
