Due to keen growth and development my client a leading name within the higher education sector are currently recruiting a number of Data Analysts with strong exposure of Power BI.

This role can be fully remote of campus based

You will be based in the Operations Team within Enquirer and Applicant Communications, part of External Relations. This team supports data and communication processes for the recruitment and admission of a wide variety of Undergraduate and Postgraduate students from the
point of enquiry through to application and on to Matriculation.

External Relations has a strong customer oriented focus, and relies heavily on data systems and business-driven technical solutions to provide business/market intelligence, market edge and to enable day to day processing.

Key software systems used are the Tribal SITS Student Management System (SMS) and the COGNOS/Power BI suite of reporting tools.

Principal Accountabilities

1. To support the identification, harvest, management, validation, conversion and cleansing of data within the Student Management System (SMS) and related business processes.

2. To assist in the development of reports and queries from the Student Management System
using reporting tools such as Cognos and Excel, with a particular focus on applicant data but with the potential to work across the applicant and student journey.

3. To acquire an extended working knowledge of the data and business processes in the
University and in ASRS in particular, sufficient to contribute to training and the operational support of staff in their day to day usage of systems, and to influence further user-driven enhancements to systems.

4. To assist the implementation of the University data protection policy and data security
protocols within Admissions processing and in other areas as required.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience: Assessment Criteria

1. Degree in relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
2. Experience with data migration / data cleansing / data
profiling projects.
3. Experience of large scale databases/datasets and their
structures, and a working knowledge of SQL
4. In-depth working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages,
particularly higher level Access and Excel skills.
5. Knowledge and experience of using reporting packages (such
as Cognos, Business Objects or Excel).
