Our client, an industry leading and rapidly expanding automation and control solutions specialist, are currently searching for a Business Development Manager (Controls and Automation) to join their team in Telford on a permanent basis

Summary of Role
*Develop new business relationships, generate and negotiate new income to an agreed annual target, to increase year on year
*You will be reporting directly to the Sales Director

Job Responsibilities
*Present the business to potential clients through direct or digital communication
*Provide a high quality service to potential and existing customers
*Maintain the Company's reputation as a leading edge systems integrator
*Responsible for generation of new leads and making suitable appointments. Motivated to ensure all sales opportunities are explored
*Travel will be a major factor and overnight stops may be required. Overseas travel can be expected from time to time
*Successful management of the sales process from lead generation, pitching the business, asking questions, pitching the solution, negotiating and closing the order through to handing over a project to the Engineering team and kick-off meeting with customer
*Prepare proposals and specifications with the full support of the Sales Applications team and in accordance with procedures
*Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of issues affecting system integrator companies and the drives, digital and automation industry. Maintain an awareness of competitor activities
*Representing at industry events and tradeshows in order to gain new business leads and contacts
*Comply with all relevant standards and work to the Company's ISO9001 & ISO14001 registered
*To comply with all Company procedures as defined in various documents including the Quality Manual, Staff Manual and Health & Safety Manual
*Be pro-active in supporting other company activities such as supporting colleagues
*To maintain good relationships with customers, suppliers and company staff
*Other duties as required

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
*A knowledge of systems integration incorporating Variable Speed Drives, PLCs, Robotics, and SCADA/HMI products, MES/MIS, Simulation, Smart solutions and autonomous mobile applications
*Proven track record in selling solutions to a variety of industrial applications
