The Group Technology (GT) team is the backbone of our organisation. It provides the operations and infrastructure for IT across the whole of HBOS. The GT team is made up of over 1,700 staff, based in 10 locations across the UK, covering projects from all of the key technology areas: mainframes, mid-range, distributed computing and network integration. HBOS is now looking to strengthen GT's position by recruiting IT specialists with a broad range of skills into its key areas: Customer ManagementThere are four Customer Management teams - each aligned to internal business customers - to drive forward and improve customer engagement. Each team has clear service line ownership of customer relations, service delivery and account management. The customer teams provide a single point of accountability for all GT services to their customers and support the successful delivery of customer projects, as well as effectively managing future demand. Management & OperationsManagement & Operations is fully accountable for provision of the day-to-day production service and management of GT as a business entity. This area has accountability for effective delivery of the 24/7 service and a clear focus on delivering efficiency gains across service operations. Management & Operations is responsible for improving incident and problem resolution responsiveness and protecting the live service across the Group. It is also responsible for running the 'business of GT' - KPIs, planning, strategy etc and the HBOS IT Helpdesk. Distributed & TelecomsThis area provides internal HBOS customers with a broad range of technology solutions required in their everyday working lives. The technologies span: PCs, laptops, printers and mobile devices, connected across all locations through an integrated high quality voice and data network.
Enterprise Technology ServicesETS has end-to-end ownership for the HBOS mainframe and midrange technologies.
